Cyber security for future zonal E/E architectures

  • Future software-defined vehicles promises new business models for original equipment manufacturers (OEM) – and zonal E/E architectures will pave the way for this. However, the increased software complexity and data transmission require an adaption of existing security concepts in order to protect against future cyberattacks. This paper evaluates the security challenges in zone-based E/E architectures and presents a possible cyber security strategy that can be used to master the challenges successfully within the cyber security processes. The proposed strategy provides a guideline for the implementation of an appropriate security concept for future software-defined vehicles.
